Stanadyne have developed a new corrosion-resistant inlet metering valve for diesel common rail pumps due to corrosion and dirty fuel reducing the life of the valves and the pumps themselves. Determined to resolve the issue, Stanadyne created the new IMV which prevents large debris from entering the valve.

What does an Inlet Metering Valve do?

It plays a main role in controlling the output of the diesel common rail pump in response to engine fueling demands. If the valve fails, the engine can no longer control the fuel pressure and delivery which if not fixed can lead to further damage to the fuel pump and fuel injection system.

Stanadyne are yet to release this Inlet Metering Valve to be purchased but in the mean time, if you have an issue with your IMV, we sell a variety of Delphi ones on our online shop.
